Journeyman learns CPR at Gaylor Electric, saves daughter
When Lauren, a Journeyman out of Gaylor Electric’s Sellersburg office, took the First Aid & CPR class last year at Gaylor, he had no idea that it would later help him save his two-year-old daughter's life.
One night, when Lauren went in to check on his sleeping daughter he found she was not breathing. He immediately started to perform CPR, and fortunately she started to breathe. Lauren then called 911. At the hospital, the doctor said if Lauren had not performed CPR on his daughter, she probably would not be here today.
"People never know when certain training helps on the jobsite or can also help outside the job as well. I am glad that I was able to get the CPR training that abled me to save my daughter's life. I would like to thank Gaylor Electric for providing this training,” said Lauren.
Lauren discovered that his daughter had an unexpected allergic reaction to mango which was a fragrance in their laundry detergent.
Gaylor Electric said their company could not be happier that they provided training that has benefited both employees and their families. The aim of all education is ACTION...and that is exactly what Lauren was able to do with his training.
