Nearly 17,000 Hoosiers died from cardiovascular diseases last year. Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death nationwide - claiming a life every 40 seconds.
These people are our loved ones, friends, neighbors, co-workers, and customers.
The American Heart Association (AHA) is working diligently to ensure people experience more of life's precious moments through research, education, and advocacy efforts. Over the last 50 years, the AHA's research has brought about lifesaving discoveries such as the EKG, CPR, and the pacemaker. Research has also led to the detection of stroke through early warning signals, greatly reducing not only death from stroke but also reversing its life-altering effects.
This year, I am proud to serve at the Open Your Heart chair supporting the American Heart Association's efforts to BUILD healthier lives, free of cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
Please consider a gift of lifesaving significance.
Thank you,
Phil Kenney
